The Pool Is Ready!!

I hope your summer is off to a good start. I’ve been working so much I’ve not been able to get to the pool as much as I’d like. Then there’s the pandemonium of kids crowding the locker room, I’m already longing for school to be back in session! LOL

I’ve a feeling (hoping) you’ve been chomping at the bit to read more of Ophelia’s and Mathias’ story. Things just got out of hand last month, and I had to push the newsletter out further and further. BUT, have no fear, I’ve got Chapter 2 complete and it’s available as bonus content. The delay also means I’ll be able to get a newsletter out after the 5th of each month as that’s one of my least busy times.

I’ve been busy writing, and not just about Ophelia and Mathias. I’ve also got two other books going. Book 1 in the Rochester Sisterhood is almost complete, while I’m plotting and brainstorming Anna & Sebastian’s story in the prequel/sequel to Forever Mine. I’m also getting thoughts about Louisa’s story that I’m writing down as they come to me. Her story is going to have some of the same themes as in Dangerous, that romantic suspense feel with a tortured hero.

Life here is crazy as always. Baby is now working at a local pizza place. Since I have to shuttle her back and forth to the job, I’m at least getting out of the house more. She’s finally starting to show the kind of maturity that allows me to not fear so much for her future. Although the other day she mentioned moving to NYC in another year

to go to cooking school!! WHAT!?? Like a smart mom, I was screaming Noooo! in my head, but kept my mouth shut. I don’t think it will happen, but I need to let her figure out what’s realistic, while not crushing her dreams.

I’ve been dealing with the onset of arthritis in my right hand now. My awesomely HAWT doctor had me get an x-ray to confirm that oh so delightful news. *sigh* I’ll deal. LOL We also did some blood work, and my B-12 levels were really low, so I’ve started taking liquid stuff under the tongue to build up the levels. HAWT Doc says it might help with depression, metabolism, and energy levels. I’m all about making those changes! LOL

Book News!!

I just got word from Penguin/Berkley that they’re finally returning my rights to PLEASURE ME. YAY!! This means I’ll be able to drop the price on the digital book. Look for more info in the next couple of months as to the book’s status.

Also, Entangled has set a date for the reissue of MIRAGE as August 21st. I’ll be participating in a promo of some sort with other authors so look for that info in the next month or so.

You might notice there’s not an author spotlight this month. My good friend Karen Troxel had some unexpected life issues come up that prevented her from answering questions. But next month the wonderful Sabrina Jeffries is going to be in the house! That’s all the news I can think of for the moment. As always, thank you for reading!

Cinnabon Rolls

This isn’t the food-chain’s store recipe, but it comes darn close. These are rich, gooey, and just outstanding. You might want to reduce the actual size to avoid sweetness overload!

As always I found some books from other authors you might not know. All of these books have at least a 3 Star rating with 5 or more reviews on Amazon or Goodreads OR I happen to know the quality of the author’s work. NOTE: Just remember!! Unless otherwise stated, I’ve NOT read these books, so I can’t recommend them one way or another.

Three Weeks With A Princess

Lia Kincaid, illegitimate daughter of the Duke of York, comes from a long line of notorious women. Raised by her grandmother, formerly mistress to the late Marquess of Lendale, she has little hope of a respectable marriage. But the new marquess, her childhood friend, Jack Easton, would make a very desirable protector…if he weren’t too honorable to take her to bed.

It’s bad enough being saddled with a title he never desired. Now Jack must resist the beautiful woman he desires far too much. Duty calls, and he is duty-bound to choose a wealthy bride. But then Lia makes another outrageous suggestion: asking Jack to devise some tests to find her the perfect paramour. Tests that involve flirting, kissing, and other pleasurable pursuits. Tests that, in a matter of weeks, could transform friendship into the ton’s greatest scandal, igniting a passion even duty can’t deny…

Captivated by an Adventurous Lady

Thieves of the Ton, Book 1

Regency Historical Romance

4 Flame — 4.5 Stars

The quest to break a mummy’s curse turns dangerous when a peer ends up dead.

Miles Lawrence Hawkins, fifth Earl of Archewyne, is alone and the last of his line, save for a young daughter, and he’s made peace with that…Yet unexpectedly finding an attractive female thief in his library gives him doubts. Drawn into the lady’s insane plot to retrieve various stolen mummies from around London—including the British Museum—he accompanies her merely to see what will happen next. Being captivated by her quest and intrigued by her talent for skirting the law is a much needed distraction from the stress of his own life’s misfortunes.

Lady Emmaline Darling, skilled thief and only child to the Earl of St. Ives, is under a mummy’s curse. Believing herself damned due to her father’s penchant for removing antiquities from Egypt, she’s vowed to return a pair of mummies to their eternal resting place in order to save his life and her own. Being caught by Miles wasn’t in her plan, and neither was falling for his charm, but she’ll do anything to see he’s free of the curse as well, for their histories are too intricately connected for his ills to just be bad luck.

When a peer with ties to them both ends up dead and Emmaline’s jewelry is found at the scene, Miles is honor bound to offer for her and lend her his protection. Despite her refusal, desire pulls at them and scandal surrounds them, and when Miles is summoned to once more embark upon a secret mission for the Crown, he must shed everything that will become a liability, but keeping Emmaline out of trouble—and out of his mind—is easier said than done
